I finally realized I must be trying to photo every cool old and new big building in the San Francisco Bay Area.
on shattered glass
like dice tossed on a smooth endless table we only wait to see how they roll
the morning broke like melting ice cream on shattered glass
the face of the wristwatch split into shards the beads scattered as fast as a race horse breaks out of the gate
the summer lit like a burnt match smoldering in the ashtray as the sun bursts into a billion pieces
simply said, one thing affects the next and so forth
he walked across the parking lot staring at his brand new Iphone watching an old episode of Gunsmoke, by the time he woke ten people were looking down at him as he laid flat on the ground
Well now it has been converted in living spaces. But when you mentioned that about the name i had to look up (below) and see why it is called the Cathedral Building. I just thought it's height and look. Nice to know living near it. Thanks.
The Oakland Federal Building, built in 1914, is located at the intersection of two of Oakland's main thoroughfares: Broadway and Telegraph. The nearby downtown architecture, including City Hall, Old Oakland, The Rotunda, the former I. Magnin store, the Paramount Theatre and the Fox Theatre, evokes the glory days of Oakland's storied past.
The Federal Realty Building was designed by architect Benjamin Geer McDougall. It was renamed the Cathedral Building in 1969 because of its churchlike spires and design.
well the only difference is that it wasn't cathedral but federal building. yeah, we aren't noticing what is around us. for example, this [link] is a tomb in my town. you can see how it looked in 1928 and how it looks now. every morning i see there young high school students smoking weed. they even don't know on what they're standing
that's a shame the taggers will do their work on anything. that would not happen with a nice old building like that here. well unless it was in the slums or East Oakland. but with the economy the way it is, it hard to stop. a little respect would be in order but kids will be kids we all do stuff
that building did it on its own

On the wasted edge
of what was and what could could have been
the arc angel stood along yet another riverbank
watching the horizon burn
