Dreams are visions
better sometimes seen in sleep
recalled on paper
or forgotten
misty eyed morning memories,
like two skulls hovering
or falling dreams
or walks that never end
or never get anywhere,

the eve daylight
the wind calm yet blowing hard
the sky blue and black and dark
no light
then sunshine
then moonglowing smiles from Alice,
dreams that are difficult to wake
get a second look
at the walls moving
ground hard
soft
like a snowdrift
grass as high as your chest
mudslides
waterfalls
quicksand
paradise
blues points west
north
south
eastern red star hovers still
like that dream you forgot,
dreams are visions
ones you feel
some you never know are coming
gone
lost in memory
best understood after the day is done
when you have time to wait
